KI Good News – 2/2/19

With wind chills near -50 or lower, you might think it would be hard to find much good. However, here are a few good stories to come out of the polar vortex:

1.  A good Samaritan in Chicago rented enough hotel rooms to get seventy homeless people out of the cold on Wednesday after they were staying in tents.

2.  A pharmacy in central Michigan knew that people needed their prescriptions and didn’t want them going out in the cold. The pharmacists jumped on a snowmobile to make deliveries. Read more here.

3.  An 82-year-old grandmother in Muskegon, Michigan braved the sub-zero temperatures to snow-blow her driveway this week – and then cleared snow for her neighbors, too. Her kids begged her to stay inside, but she says she likes running her snow blower because it reminds her of her Harley, which she still rides in the summer. Read more here.
