Hi, I’m Chris Allen. I got my start in radio in 1985. I first came to WWKI in 1989 as a part-time weekend D.J. I took my first full-time radio job in Findlay, Ohio in 1990. I went to work full-time at WWKI in 1992. I left in 2001 and became a truck driver. I first started the “Classic Country Show” at WWKI around 1997. I came back to do the show in 2015. I really enjoy talking and running into people that say they love the show! I think it’s important that classic country music which began in the late 1920’s with Jimmy Rodgers and The Carter Family through the 1980’s with artist like Keith Whitley and Patty Loveless, always be on today’s country radio. Over the years I’ve been lucky to meet many country legends that are now gone like my favorite, George Jones, Tammy Wynette and Conway Twitty. In my free time I enjoy gardening with my wife and hiking. I also love time I get to spend with our grandson Chase. I hope you give the Classic Country Show a listen and I bet the songs you hear will bring back many good memories. Thanks for listening!
