A surplus for City of Kokomo

Despite a blizzard, a strike of tornadoes, a flood and being denied FEMA aid, the City of Kokomo has finished 2013 with a surplus. According to Mayor Greg Goodnight, Kokomo has incurred $800,000 in damages, but ended the fiscal year with 3.6 million more than it had at the end of 2012. Kokomo is the only second-class city that’s debt-free.

"We have shown that you can and should have both,” Goodnight said. “The storms caused us to refocus our priorities and commit our efforts to do more with less.”

 

Peru man arrested for sexual misconduct

A Peru man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. Charles Summer, 42, was arrested on four felony charges of sexual misconduct – after the 15-year-old girl was admitted to a hospital. Summer is being held on $10,000 bail.

 

Tim McGraw to promote new album in Indianapolis

Tim McGraw has welcomed 2014 with a new announcement. The country icon is hitting the road and stopping at 30 different cities, including Indianapolis, for his “Sundown Heaven Tour”. McGraw also rolled out the first single, “Looking For That Girl”, from his new album during his tour announcement Monday. The tour kicks off in May. Dates have yet to been announced.
