Kokomo Urban Outreach is making a huge difference in the lives of young people in our community! Director Jeff Newton and Man Up Directors Kareen Dunn and Lee Wallace noticed that quite a few younger kids were showing up at Man Up events, wanting to take part. However, the minimum age for the Man Up program is 10 years of age. What to do? They all knew they couldn’t turn their backs on these kids. So Mini Man Up was born, a new Kokomo Urban Outreach program specifically for boys ages 7, 8 and 9. The ManUP staff will be investing in the young men and influencing them to make good decisions and teaching the importance of education. The 4 R’s of ManUP; Respect, Responsibility, being Reliable and being Ready are applied to the younger boys as well. These young men, ages 7-9, are working towards a goal most of our own children take for granted…they are hoping to earn enough Man Up points to get a new winter coat. That’s where YOU can help! Kokomo Urban Outreach is accepting NEW boys coats for this program. Drop off a new kids coat at the Kokomo Urban Outreach office 1701 S. Locke or call for more information at 457-1983. Please help us spread the word about what this wonderful organization is doing for kids in our community!!
